Groups can be more accessible due to lower cost per person than individual therapy.
They can be complimentary to individual therapy. You can work on skills you've learned in action. Emotion regulation, communication skills, self-awareness.
Facilitated by a therapist trained and skilled in how to run groups and gets regular consultation to provide you with ethical care. This can ease participants' concerns as group conflict can and will arise. You can join knowing that a trained therapist can step in and handle situations that pop up.

These are groups focused on the language and experience of “in-the moment” thoughts and emotions with the goal of removing blocks to feeling and expression. Emotional exposure is usually slow, but the goal is to go very deep.

It becomes a safe space with people you can automatically relate and connect to.
Feel heard by people who get it. Family issues? Been there. Questioning? Done that. Feeling disconnected from the community? Not anymore.

A screening process of two individual sessions is usually required for ensuring participants are a fit for the group.
There is a minimum commitment of attending 6 group meetings.
Generally, in process groups you will be expected to talk through your plan to terminate/stop attending group with the group directly.

Where: Virtually, anywhere in Washington state.
Why this group: place to have freedom of expression in a safe environment, explore self and others in similar situations.
Goals/objectives: Validation and Affirmation in Identity, Chosen Family, Catharsis, Group Cohesiveness (belonging).

When: Biweekly on Tuesdays 12-1:15pm.
Where: Virtually, anywhere in Washington state.
Why this group: similar challenges like occupation/school difficulties, exploring accommodations, loneliness/isolation, feeling misunderstood.
Goals/objectives: Universality, Interpersonal Learning, Group Cohesiveness (belonging), Imparting of Information, Catharsis, Development of Social Skills.
